Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program
Due to the monitoring of Covid-19 in our Hong Kong community, the next cycle of MBSR may be a combination of both IN-PERSON & ONLINE sessions depending on government advisories in January 2021. Our mindful learning experience will adapt & flow according to the health protection needs of the community.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR)
MBSR is the original 8-week mindfulness course founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn at The University of Massachusetts Medical Center in 1979. It is held in a group setting, with teacher-guided instruction of formal and informal mindfulness practices in order to cultivate awareness of the ways that the mind and body connect for health and well-being. Cathy received her MBSR teacher Qualification from the Center of Mindfulness at UMASS and Certification from the Mindfulness Center at Brown University, USA.
- Information Session (1.5 hours, free of charge) provides a brief introduction to mindfulness practices, research, course particulars, and Q&A about joining a course. Note: It is required of all enrolled participants.
- 8 x Weekly Sessions (2.5 hours each) that include workbook, handouts and audio recordings.
- 1 Day Retreat (7.5 hours) is a program included as part of the course curriculum.
- Home Practice for 45+ minutes daily throughout the course.
